The Iridium Extreme 9575 satellite phone comes in a push-to-talk model that offers dual functionality. You can use the PTT device to communicate with users within a talk-group who have their own PTT handsets, or use the device as a standalone sat phone with standard phone functionality. All services and settings for each mode are independently operated to enable PTT Mode or Phone Mode or switch between both.

PTT Plans

The PTT Iridium 9575 satellite phone price is a cost-effective option that requires a global or regional monthly subscription but without the worry of per minute billing. Small to medium groups within a 100,000 – 300,000 square kilometer range can communicate free of charge while larger groups communicating over a bigger land range incurs a once-off cost.

Phone Functions

When using the Iridium PTT in Phone Mode, you can access telephony functions such as phone calling, SOS, SMS, voicemail, and location-based services, which will need an activated SIM card. The Iridium PTT phone handset does not require a SIM card when using PTT Mode, which then enables access to Iridium’s push-to-talk services.

The Iridium 9575 PTT service enables groups of users to instantly connect within defined geographic areas. With an activated PTT service, you get access to a web-based command center to setup and configure subscribers for your talk-group using the Iridium Extreme 9575 PTT or other compatible push-to-talk devices.

PTT Satellite Radio

The ICOM IC-SAT100 PTT satellite radio offers a reliable communication experience for small to large talk-groups over the Iridium PTT network. The handset provides VE-PG4 to interconnect with several radio systems over different bands. This radio device is a sophisticated walkie-talkie without the limitations of distance.

Using sat radio is different to sat phones where IC-SAT100 users can instantly communicate with all other radio users within a defined talk-group by simply pushing the transmit button. While the device is supplied with a BP-300 Li-ion battery pack provides 14.5 hours of operation, spare batteries are available to be purchased separately for backup.

Accessories

The Iridium Extreme 9575 satellite phone has a selection of accessories to expand the services offered through the satellite network. Batteries, docking stations, external antennas, and chargers are just some of the value-added accessories that enable use of devices across multiple platforms.

External Antennas

External antennas are designed for you to use a satellite phone from an enclosed area. The antenna is placed outside with a view of the sky while being connected to the phone. This accessory comes in handy for use in a vehicle, remote office, or indoor setting.

Bundled Kits

Iridium PTT bundled kits come packed with different components depending on your communication needs. They offer robust portable transport solutions for the Iridium Extreme PTT service. Several combinations include the Beam Wireless, Corded or the Privacy Handset, and the Beam DriveDOCK Extreme. These kits are ideally suited for applications such as defense, government, emergency services, and commercial use in remote regions.
